Hello and happy full moon to you! 🌕
A few weeks ago I was lucky to be gifted a few products from @randco including this anti-humidity spray, which works like a charm. I also tried out their rodeo star style foam, and Atlantis line moisturizing shampoo + conditioner, all in travel size, perfect for our next trip! •
R + Co is all about experience. Created by hairdressers, formulated without parabens, sulfates, mineral oil or petrolatum. Also cruelty free, gluten free and color safe. •
All of their products have unique packaging and have subtle scents, that are never overwhelming. I was impressed with the quality of products I tried, and I recommend you try them out too!
Farmers market finds✨
Over the last few weeks I’ve been doing a lot of research into local farmers markets near us in Portland. We’re incredibly lucky to have such a wealth of options. •
It’s super important to support local, not only for the health benefits, but to support the local economy as well. It’s a great way to get groceries low waste- bring your own bags and have minimal packaging involved. Most vendors are conscious of using paper or compostable packaging. You can pretty much go to one (or multiple) every day of the week! •
Here’s a few of my personal favs: •
@montavillamarket - our favorite, and the closest market to us. Flowers, free range chicken and meats, eggs, @taborbread (love their biscuits), tons of berries. Great selection and a smaller market with a laid back feel. Sundays 10-2 •
@hollywoodfarmersmarketpdx- best selection of all the smaller markets near us. Kombucha, juice, coffee, seafood, meats, produce. A bit overwhelming so I recommend going early before the crowd. You could get everything you need here in one stop! Saturdays 9-2. •
market at @peoplesfoodcoop- I really love the community feel of this one. It’s a smaller market, but I really love a few unique vendors- @groundbreakingbread + @sacredsummit that attend this one. Also great, because you can get tons of zero waste items inside the co-op if the market doesn’t have something you need. Wednesdays 2-9 •
@portlandfarmers King - another great option for a weekend market. Tons of produce, seafood, meat, great community and family focused market. Two unique vendors I love here: @grounduppdx + @amylkshop Was just recently added! Sundays 10-2 •
Of course this list wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the largest year round market in Portland, @portlandfarmers at PSU Saturdays 830-2. Literally anything you could possibly want. It’s an overwhelming experience for me with how crowded it can get, but with over 150 vendors the selection can’t be beat. Parking can be tricky here, so I’d recommend taking the max.• Hope this is helpful! I personally went to 7 markets to put this together. •
What’s your favorite farmers market vendor? Tag them below so I can check them out!

But seriously, thank goodness for my human. Since the new moon I’ve been feeling all the feelings HARD. •
I’m not a fan of fireworks as an adult, so I didn’t get much sleep last night to top it off.
After rereading @love.radha’s belong, I’m reinvigorated with the idea of getting my daily D.O.S.E. (Dopamine, oxytocin, seratonin, and endorphins) to get me back on track. SIdenote: HIGHLY recommend picking up her book. One of my favorite reads this year for sure. •
Have you been feeling extra moody this week? How do you cope?
Humans can you believe it’s JULY?✨ Time for a 6 month goal checkin: •
Career: Starting the modern minimalist is the best decision I’ve made for myself. Business has been taking off the last two months, and my creative juices haven’t stopped flowing since. Branding, PR, social, admin, events, I’m doing it all! •
Finances: We’ve been continuing to incorporate a strict budget and monthly household meetings to keep on track. This has been something we’ve attempted a few times, but it caused more stress and fights than it was worth. This time we’re both on board, and it’s working! •
Health: Self care has taken the back burner with the business taking off, but I’m happy to say my 4 day gym routine has made me more confident than ever, in an area that has always been a weak point. Starting to incorporate more cardio, and hoping that this will help tone up the areas I’m still less confident in (inner thighs, and all dat ass). •
Food: One of my biggest dreams for my life in Portland was incorporating farmers markets into our weekly routine. My wife working weekends kept this from being a reality, but as our priorities shifted it’s becoming a new habit. It’s bringing me major joy. I’ll be doing a full post with all of our favorites later this week 😊 •
Sustainability: Another focus in 2019 is conscious living and sustainability efforts. Reducing plastics consumption, adopting zero waste practices, it’s all in the works. One awesome thing I want to mention is today is the first day of #plasticfreejuly. It’s an awesome campaign with the challenge being, using no plastics for the month of July. I’m excited to take part and I hope you’ll join me! You can find more info at the page tagged on my photo. •
There’s so many areas of growth that I could talk about, but I think I covered the basics. •
We’re halfway through the year, and 2020 will be here before you know it! •
Share with me one goal you’ve set for this year. Are you on track to achieve it? What’s getting in your way from making it happen?
Happy Friday! ✨
Very excited to relax this weekend, and celebrate my wife’s birthday with close friends. •
In the interest of continuing to minimize my lifestyle, I’ve realized that my self care routine has simplified as well. For the last month or so I’ve been exclusively using @indie_lee for my morning routine, with a few other serums thrown in for night routine. •
Clean ingredients, glass bottles which I love, and an incredible woman behind it all. •
Not sponsored, just a huge fan of everything Indie makes. •
Have an incredible weekend! As usual I’ll be on stories, and back to posts on Monday 😊
Good scents come naturally ✨
Skylar. Not only a great baby name, but also a true clean fragrance company. •
Here’s a few reasons I love @skylar:
Natural ingredients, cruelty free, hypoallergenic, sustainable packaging, and women founded/run business. •
For the last few weeks I’ve been testing out their 6 scents in the sample palette, and I finally decided on Capri, as you may have seen in my stories. •
All of their fragrances are very light, which is great if you’re like me and easily get overwhelmed by scents. •
This product was gifted to me, and skylar also wants to share a gift with you, for 10% off your purchase, with code devinvond10!
I’m curious, which scent appeals to you? .

You GUYS. •
Hey guys. •
Do you ever think about the language you use? Does it ever bother you to be referred to as a guy so frequently? •
Once you start noticing the idiocyncricies of operating under the patriarchy, you can’t unsee it. I’m guilty of it too, for years. And every once in a while I slip up. •
If you’re like me, it really bothers you. •
Gender norms are EVERYWHERE. Today, I challenge you to use gender neutral terminology, because lets face it, its the future. •
Gender norms are outdated at best, so lets start being more respectful of each other. Ask for preferred pronouns when meeting a human for the first time. Use gender neutral words like humans, everyone, friends etc.• Cheers ✌🏻 stepped off my soap box now
