Today in Portland: 73 degrees + blooms everywhere!
Life is GOOD. 🌸
PS anyone know what these are?
The future is fluid. •
Last night I went to a gender fluid panel event, showcasing trans youth, and non binary and trans medical and education activists. •
Discussions on intersectional feminism and trans activism left me feeling incredibly powerful. I’ve been doing myself a disservice by not taking advantage of the many ways I have power in our society. I have so much more confidence in me, because why shouldn’t I be? I love myself, and my body and I should be proud everyday. •
I got extremely emotional hearing a speech from Ella, an 11 year old trans girl. Just seeing her, radiantly confident at 11 years old, thinking about everything she’s gone through and what that stage of life can be like, I was welling up. I learned that human beings can have awareness of their preferred gender as young as 18 months, but most kids aren’t allowed to transition without parental consent, until the age of 18. •
I am so lucky to be an able bodied, educated cis gender female. There are so many privileges that I take for granted getting caught up in the minutia of everyday life but when you get down to the basics, I have it all. And I still have so much to learn. •
I’m so proud of Portland for having such an incredible LGBTQ community. Proud that we are having progressive conversations to move forward on trans and gender diverse rights. Proud that we are supporting humans to live in the bodies of their choosing, and prevent years of pain and suffering I can’t even imagine, because I never had to. And no one should have to. •
We are all human, and we all deserve to love ourselves fully. •
People are people. Love is love ❤️ Thank you to my brilliant wife @djjesstheripper for bringing me along!
Caught these beautiful blooms on our way to the gym and brought these along because, well it’s that time of the month. •
Having an IUD (best life decision ever) means I rarely need tampons at all anymore, but for days when I do it’s incredibly important to use organic cotton, or a reusable cup option if you can. Knowing how much our bodies can absorb through our uterine walls, and the toxic chemicals in most feminine care lines, it’s a no brainer to want the best. •
The new @ob_tampons feature a 92% plant based applicator and 100% organic cotton. No fragrance, chlorine and dye free, also super important for vaginal health. •
Only what you need, nothing you don’t. •
I’d love to open up a discussion about vaginal health, as it’s much needed and rarely openly discussed.
Reading woman code was such a big eye opener for me, and I want to know what are your thoughts!
Sunday Funday: avocado toast, catching up on business paperwork, a trip to @ikeausa and replanting our plant babies for spring! How are you spending your Sunday? •
On our way back from Vancouver, we stopped in Bellingham for a bite to eat and found this dreamy juice bar. Highly recommend @electricbeetjuiceco if you’re ever in the area!
This morning I woke up at 3:51, tried to get back to sleep unsuccessfully, then decided to be productive, picked up Work Party and finished it.
It’s the only book I’ve read with direct impact on building my own business, chalk full of REAL, straight talk advice on life, entrepreneurship with a female viewpoint by @createcultivate‘s @jaclynrjohnson. The chapter on female business owners resonated so strongly with me it had me welling up with pride, the passion comes across so genuinely!
Highly recommend this one to any woman wanting to start out on their own, for some serious inspiration.
Here’s a few of my favorite takeaways:
Our self worth and dignity is never something that needs to be negotiated.
Trust in your value.
Never take the first offer.
Work hard, but you have to know your limits.
Be ready to leap when opportunity knocks.
You. Are. Enough.
Never forget: one email, one recommendation, one meeting can change the trajectory of one woman’s life.
Work hard. Party on 🤟🏻 For anyone who’s read, what resonated with you? And those who haven’t, do any of my personal takeaways speak to you?

Digital detox ✨
An unwritten side effect I’ve noticed on my KonMari journey, is the decluttering of my digital presence. I talk a bit more about this in story today, but I’ve decided to step away from multiple other social media accounts, in the interest of focusing on my passion, @the.modern.minimalist. •
I can’t put in 100% divided among five different pursuits simultaneously.
It’s taken me some time to get here, but I’ve trusted the journey this far and I’ll continue to trust what the universe has in store. I’m excited to grow, and put my all into this new career path, fulfilling my natural helper instincts (and finally using that unfinished counseling degree). Here’s to making the most of the end of my Saturn return!
